Hernando Beach Fishing Report.
Fishing is as good as it gets right now. Red fish are all over the outer islands and mangrove points, target areas with lime rock bottom or oyster bars. Best action for reds has been on the mid incoming tide and first part of the outgoing tide. Live green backs or pin fish are my go to baits. Snook are also holding in the same areas use large green backs either freelined or under a float. Cobia are still all over the shallow rocks in 8 to 15 feet of water, anchor up current with a chum block out the back of the boa. Live green backs, pin fish or freah dead bait will get the cobia to eat. Tarpon are here we are catching them on fly rod and spinn gear in 3 to 8 feet of water along the flats, these hard fighting fish are once and a life time fish to catch and put on a great show. Gag grouper season starts June1st and scallop season starts July 1st dont miss out on some of the best fishing we have to offer right now. We can also accommodate large groups.
